Review Guidelines
Saccho is useful only if the reviews on it are honest, fair, and written by real students. These guidelines exist to keep the platform that way.
What Makes a Good Review
A good review is specific, personal, and balanced. It tells the next student something they couldn't learn from the school's own website. Think about what you wish you had known before enrolling.
✅ Encouraged
- Specific experiences — classes, teachers, facilities you personally used
- Honest ratings — even if the school is popular, rate what you actually experienced
- Constructive criticism — explain why something was a problem
- Both positives and negatives — one-sided reviews are less trusted by readers
- Fee details — hidden charges, actual costs vs. advertised costs
- Atmosphere and culture — how students are treated, mental health environment
🚫 Not Allowed
- Personal attacks on named teachers, staff, or students
- Hate speech based on caste, religion, gender, ethnicity, or disability
- Unverifiable claims presented as fact (e.g. "The principal takes bribes")
- Reviews written on behalf of someone else or paid for by anyone
- Promotional or fake positive reviews — these will be removed and the account banned
- Content unrelated to the school (spam, advertisements, political content)
Moderation
Every review is read by a human moderator before going live. We do not use automated approval. We check that submissions meet these guidelines, not that they are positive or favorable to the school.
If your review is rejected, you will see a reason. Common reasons include: too short to be useful, contains a personal name that could identify a private individual, or contains an unverifiable direct accusation.
Reporting a Review
If you see a review that violates these guidelines, use the Report button on the review card. Our team will review it within 48 hours. We take reports seriously, but we do not remove reviews simply because a school disagrees with them.
Anonymous Posting
You can always choose to post anonymously. Your name will never appear on the published review. However, your verified student identity is still stored internally so we can enforce the one-review-per-school policy and investigate abuse reports.
